Mixing is the process of balancing individual tracks, adjusting levels, EQ, compression, and effects to create a cohesive stereo mix. Mastering is the final step where we optimize the overall sound, ensure consistency across tracks, and prepare your music for distribution across all platforms.
Session length varies based on the project. A typical vocal recording session is 2-4 hours,. We recommend booking in advance and discussing your specific needs to ensure adequate time.
For mixing, please send WAV or AIFF files at the highest resolution available (minimum 24-bit/44.1kHz). Export all tracks from the same starting point with no processing on the master bus. Include a rough mix for reference and clearly label all files.
Not necessarily. Many clients prefer remote mixing where we send you revisions for feedback. However, attended sessions are available if you'd like to be involved in real-time. We'll work with whatever approach suits your workflow and schedule best.
Our starter mix & master packages includes up to 2 revisions, all other options have unlimited revisions for mixing and 2 rounds for mastering. This ensures we achieve the sound you're looking for while maintaining project efficiency. Additional revisions can be arranged if needed.
We work primarily on Logic Pro X, with a hybrid setup combining premium analog outboard gear and industry-standard plugins. Our monitoring chain includes treated acoustics and reference-grade speakers to ensure accurate translation across all playback systems.
Export all tracks as individual WAV files from bar 1, even if they don't start immediately. Remove any master bus processing, ensure proper gain staging with no clipping, and consolidate any edited regions. Include a rough mix, session notes, and reference tracks that inspire your vision.
Stem mastering involves mastering separate groups of instruments (drums, bass, vocals, synths, etc.) rather than a single stereo mix. This provides more control over the final balance and allows for subtle adjustments that aren't possible with traditional stereo mastering.
We master to industry-standard loudness levels appropriate for your genre and distribution platform. Streaming services like Spotify normalize to around -14 LUFS, while club tracks may be louder. We prioritize dynamic range and clarity over excessive loudness to ensure your music sounds great everywhere. We shoot for around -9 lufs
Standard turnaround is 3 -5 business days for mixing and 2 business days for mastering. Rush services are available for urgent projects. Turnaround begins once we receive all files and project details. We'll provide a specific timeline when you book your project.
